Dr. Michael Marvin, Co-Principal Investigator, is a kidney/liver/pancreas transplant surgeon with The Transplant Center at Jewish Hospital. He is the Director of Liver Transplant program and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Louisville. In addition, Dr. Marvin is as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) and is a member on the Quality Assessment and Improvement (QA&I) Committee for Jewish Hospital.

Dr. Marvin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Science from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and his medical degree from Columbia Universityís College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City. Dr. Marvin interned in general surgery and served his general surgery residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital where he was Chief Resident.

Dr. Marvin completed his Research Fellowship at Columbia Universityís College of Physicians & Surgeons and his Renal and Liver Transplantation Surgery Fellowships at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He is Board Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He is also a diplomat with the National Board of Examiners and the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Marvin has been a member of several professional societies, including the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons (associate member and fellow), International Pediatric Transplantation Society, American Society of Transplant Surgeons, American Society of Transplantation, The Transplantation Society, Southeastern Surgical Congress and the Association for Academic Surgeons.
